Q. I’ve noticed water dripping from the thermostat on my stainless steel cylinder - does this mean I need a new cylinder?
If the cylinder was manufactured before 2010 then thermostat sits inside a pocket which can be unscrewed once the cylinder has been drained and replaced with a new thermostat pocket. Find out more information on this part here POCK10

No. The immersion heater for a stainless steel cylinder has a 1 ¾ inch thread whereas most off the shelf immersion heaters are for copper cylinders and have 2 ¼” threads.

Q. Which immersion heater do I need for my stainless steel cylinder?
For a direct cylinder IMHTRSS is the immersion heater you need. For the indirect cylinder it’s IMHTRTF327A.

Q. Help - I need to replace my 6 bar pressure relief valve which is dripping.
The 6bar pressure relief valve isn’t available as a separate part and is sold as part of the complete Inlet Control Valve (CONTSETALT533)

Q. I need to replace my expansion vessel. What size do I need?
12 litre expansion vessel covers all sizes up to 150 litre cylinder capacity’

24 litre expansion vessel covers the 300 litre cylinder capacity.’

Q. Which actuator (2 port valve head) replaces the actuator with RANGE written on it and has a red turn wheel on the side?
The direct replacement for this actuator is obsolete. It can be replaced by the VALVE2PORTBODY VALVE2PORTHEADPP (Danfoss 2 Port Valve complete) but will require the system to be drained.

Q. I need to replace my 6 bar pressure relief valve which is dripping and it’s the one with the allen key and O rings.
Most of the older inlet control valves can be replaced by the current inlet control valve (CONTSETALT533) but some small pipework modification will be required.

Q.Can I use any immersion heater in a thermal store?
No if replacing the immersion you will need a high temperature type immersion which we supply as part number IMHTR2301.

Q. How do I identify the pressure relief valves on my unvented stainless steel cylinder?
The pressure relief valve fitted in the side of the cylinder is the
Temperature Pressure Relief (VALVETP1/2ALT) and is set at 7 bar. There is
also a pressure relief valve on the cold mains and is incorporated into the
Inlet Control Valve (CONSTSETALT533) and is set at 6 bar.
